The University of Oxford is a stimulating work environment, which enjoys an international reputation as a world-class centre of excellence. Our research plays a key role in tackling many global challenges, from reducing our carbon emissions to developing vaccines during a pandemic.
The Social Sciences Division at the University of Oxford is seeking a motivated and creative Research Communications Assistant to join our Research, Impact and Engagement (RIE) Team. This part-time (0.4 - 0.5 FTE) role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong writing skills, an eye for detail, and an interest in social sciences research and its impact on the world.
About the Role
Reporting to the Research Communications Officer and working as part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you will help raise the profile of the Division’s research by developing engaging content for a range of audiences and channels. You will support both internal and external communications, draft content for print, digital and social media platforms, and assist with the delivery of events including training sessions, showcases, and the Division’s flagship Impact Conference in March 2026.
Working closely with colleagues across departments, you will help develop, schedule and distribute content, ensure consistent branding, maintain mailing lists, and evaluate communications activity. You will assist with the production of promotional materials, including coordinating with third party suppliers. You will also act as a point of contact for the team, managing enquiries and coordinating information from a wide range of contributors.
