The Oxford Online Programme in Sleep Medicine (OOPSM) leads to a PGDip or MSc. Modules can also be undertaken as short courses and the programme also offers in person and online training courses. The programme is part of the Experimental and Clinical Sleep Medicine (ECSM) research group who are hosted by the Sir Jules Thorn Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute (SCNi), in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN), University of Oxford. The SCNi brings together world leading expertise in basic and human sleep and circadian research, and in the evaluation and management of sleep disorders.

You will be a key member of the OOPSM academic administration team. The Academic Administration Officer will be responsible for providing professional, high quality, customer-focused service. The individual will take primary responsibility for the administration related to course advertising and for the administration of training courses. The individual will also take primary responsibility for day-to-day admissions processes, with oversight from the course administrator. The individual will be required to assist tutors, the wider research team, academics associated with the programme, on-course students and other colleagues in professional support teams. The individual will also carry out other duties related to course and ECSM team administration. 

To be successful in the post you will require initiative, good attention to detail, excellent communication skills and an ability to respond quickly, efficiently, and sensitively to situations.

Training will be provided. NDCN encourages staff to explore the University’s Work Learn Develop programme of funded professional training and development opportunities for university staff.

This post is to cover the absence of the substantive postholder, who is taking a period of maternity leave. The post is available until 25 January 2027 or the actual return of the substantive postholder, or the resignation of the substantive postholder and employment of a new postholder, whichever is the earliest.

This post is part time (18.25 hours / 0.5%FTE) and maternity leave cover until 25 January 2027.
