Birmingham Newman University is seeking a Graduate Student Recruitment Officer to join our friendly and vibrant Student Recruitment directorate on a two-year fixed-term contract. This role offers a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in student recruitment, while developing valuable marketing skills and commercial awareness through exciting and varied projects.

As a Graduate Student Recruitment Officer, you will play a key role in supporting our student recruitment activities. This is a position where no two days are the same. From organising and attending recruitment events to building relationships with prospective students, you’ll be at the heart of promoting Birmingham Newman University to a wide audience.

You will have the chance to:

  • Support and deliver student recruitment events, such as open days, school visits, and UCAS fairs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Recruitment Team on campaigns that raise awareness of Birmingham Newman’s offerings.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to engage prospective students and support their journey from enquiry to enrolment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, colleges, and community partners to enhance outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials, both digital and print, that effectively communicate our brand and values.
  • Evaluate and report on the success of recruitment initiatives to inform future activities.

This role provides the unique opportunity to gain experience across various aspects of marketing and student recruitment, offering valuable insights into the sector and equipping you with a versatile skill set.

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

  • A recent undergraduate degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and organised approach to planning and managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with diverse audiences.
  • The ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness to embrace challenges, learn new skills, and adapt to changing priorities.

While experience in marketing or student recruitment is not essential, a genuine passion for connecting with others and promoting higher education is key.
