Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and established academic to join the Cyber Security group as an Associate Professor. This full-time role will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as the supervision of honours, graduate and postgraduate students. As a senior academic leader, you will be expected to maintain professional associations, establish and promote collaborations with industry, and contribute to outreach events.
Salary will be in the range of $146,629 to $161,729 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based at our Hillcrest Campus.

We are seeking to grow our Cyber Security team with the addition of an Associate Professor who enhances our research strengths, creates engaging teaching experiences, and contributes to our outreach programmes.
You will hold a relevant PhD and have demonstrated research and teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, including supervision of Masters and Doctoral students. Additionally, experience of leading a team of academic colleagues is strongly preferred, as well as a willingness to contribute to both our Hamilton and Tauranga programmes.

Au Reikura - The School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Waikato comprises four discipline groups, with significant strength in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence and Human-Centered Computing. The school has a well-established postgraduate programme in Cyber Security and will soon offer a major in Cyber Security at the undergraduate level. Our current research strengths are in Cyber Deception, DDoS mitigation, IIoT Security, Malware analysis, etc. More information about the group can be found here.
