Two posts of Lecturer (Assistant Professor) to contribute to the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and to the research environment of the Department and wider university. The role is based on the Whiteknights campus; applicants will be expected to work on campus a few days a week, starting from 1 September 2026.

The Department is looking for teaching experience and an emerging track record of excellent research and publications in leading journals in any area of economics. We welcome applicants who can make a significant contribution to any of our Research Clusters, and particularly to our Climate and Environmental Economics Research Cluster (https://research.reading.ac.uk/economics/research/research-clusters/)

The Department of Economics is part of the School of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (SPPE). The School and the Department have an established reputation for inter-disciplinary research, and members are collaborating with colleagues from schools across the university. You will have: compulsory

  • PhD in Economics or related subject
  • Publications in international highly ranked refereed journals, with evidence of a pipeline that has the potential for regular publication in highly ranked journals
  • Evidence of ability to teach a variety of topics at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels
