We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Research Assistant to join the Molecular Immunology Group within the Institute for Infection and Immunity, City St George’s, University of London, to support the AMS-funded project ‘Improving plant-expressed immune checkpoint inhibitors for affordable cancer immunotherapy: impacts of Fc and glycan engineering.’
This project aims to develop and characterise plant-made immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) with engineered Fc and glycan profiles to improve their therapeutic function and affordability. The successful applicant will assist in the molecular engineering, transient expression, purification, and in vitro evaluation of plant-made ICIs, contributing to the generation of proof-of-concept data for future translational studies.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in plant molecular pharming and antibody bioengineering within a translational immunotherapy context. You will receive guidance and development in molecular cloning, protein characterisation, and data analysis, working closely with Dr Audrey Teh and collaborators across the AMS project network.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a strong foundation in molecular biology, plant or mammalian cell expression systems, and protein analysis, who are keen to contribute to a dynamic interdisciplinary research environment.
Key attributes of the successful applicant include:
