Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) is one of the UK’s most dynamic institutions, and leads the way from a strong values base as the University for the Common Good. Ranked consistently as the UK’s, and Scotland’s, top performing modern university, and named UK University of the Year for Graduate Jobs, we are proud to be a mission-driven university dedicated to transforming lives through high impact education and research that is accessible and inclusive.
Our students are global change-makers, our academics push boundaries, and our research addresses some of the world’s most pressing challenges – from health inequalities to sustainability and inclusive societies. With campuses in Glasgow and London, and partnerships across the globe, we are local, national, and truly international.
We are seeking an exceptional Provost and Deputy Vice Chancellor to join our senior leadership team and help shape the next chapter of our ambitious Strategy 2030. This is a pivotal role, providing executive leadership for all our academic activities, line-managing the Deans of our three Schools and the Director of our London campus, and deputising for our new Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mairi Watson.
We are looking for a visionary academic leader with a proven track record at executive level in higher education. You will combine strategic insight with a proven track record of change leadership, operational delivery, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high performance. Financially fluent and commercially astute, you will lead with integrity and purpose, ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence. Above all, you will share our commitment to the Common Good and inspire others to do the same.
This is an opportunity to make a profound difference by building on our successes and shaping an outstanding future for our students, our staff, and the communities we serve. If you have the ambition, resilience, and creativity to help take GCU to the next level, we would love to hear from you.
