Lecturer in Project Management (Education and Scholarship)

This full time role is available immediately, on a fixed-term basis for 12 months.

The University of Exeter Business School has developed a suite of Degree Apprenticeship programmes designed in collaboration with employers to meet all aspects of the apprenticeship standards. UEBS aims to fulfil employer expectations and includes employer involvement right from the start of the degree.

Our design is premised on the assumption that the most authentic and powerful pedagogy is one that focuses on the identification, analysis and resolution of immediate problems in the apprentices’ world, therefore these programme link learning directly to the working professional. We believe that this philosophy directly fits with the requirements laid down by apprenticeship standards, serving both apprentice and employer.

The role

The post of Lecturer in Project Management will support the delivery project management modules across apprenticeship and other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The post will include the design, development and delivery of teaching and learning material suitable for use in project management modules. This role specifically requires your being able to design and deliver modules where apprentices propose or deliver a work-based project. The apprenticeship programmes are delivered through blended learning, a mixture of online, on-campus and employer premises masterclasses with a significant element of workplace learning and assessment.

About you

For a Lecturer post you will:

• Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD (optional) or equivalent relevant professional experience in project management to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning;
• Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
• Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
• Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
• Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
