Description of Post
The Lecturer in Nursing (Mental Health Nursing) will teach various elements of nursing to students the Donegal Campus on levels 6, 7, 8 and 9 programmes. It is expected that the Lecturer will take a particular interest in and foster the curriculum development of on numerous topics. Part of this responsibility will involve collaboration with industry partners and other third-level institutions. The lecturer appointed to this post will have particular expertise and interest in post graduate nursing.
The lecturer will join a curriculum development team to research and develop modules/programmes as appropriate. The lecturer will be expected to develop ‘best practice’ pedagogic methods that enhance the student’s learning. The teaching emphasis is on the development of relevant skills through the use of industry standard practices.
Part of the lectureship responsibility involves research, and it is expected that the successful candidate will bring a strong interest and capacity for research, supervision (undergraduate and postgraduate level) and participate in strengthening the existing research teams.
The post-holder will be responsible to the Head of Department of Nursing, Healthcare, ATU Donegal.
