About the Role
In this role, you will lead the delivery and continuous enhancement of the student experience across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. You will oversee student engagement, support and retention initiatives, using data from surveys and student feedback to drive improvements and support strategic planning. The role involves managing Student Experience Managers, providing expert guidance on complex student support cases, coordinating faculty‑wide projects, and working closely with academic and professional services colleagues to create a consistent, high‑quality experience for all students.
About You
You will be an experienced Higher Education professional with a strong understanding of student experience, engagement and support. You bring a proven ability to analyse data, interpret and translate findings into effective actions that enhance outcomes for students. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you are adept at working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and leading teams in a complex and fast‑paced environment. You demonstrate sound judgement, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, together with proficiency in systems such as SITS or Moodle, will be essential to your success in this role.
About the Faculty
The Faculty of Science and Engineering comprises of five Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the faculty. The faculty has a wide range of key interactions with partner organisations, including with overseas partners, other Government departments, research and education networks, funders and regulators. The role sits within the Professional Services job family, and the role holder is expected to be an active part of the University’s support staff family, working with academic colleagues across a wide range of responsibilities to help deliver its academic mission.
