The opportunity
University of the Arts London is looking for an Admissions Manager to join the team on a full time, fixed term basis for 24 months.
As part of UAL’s Student Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (SMRA) department, you will play a key role in ensuring that UAL delivers a first-class prospective student experience from application through to enrolment. You will manage the work of our Pre-Degree team, and will be responsible for the delivery of a University-wide professional Home, EU, and International admissions function for Pre-Degree and Undergraduate applicants, covering the full applicant life cycle through all stages from application, offer, and conversion to enrolment.
You will be expected to contribute to the overall effective service delivery, including the provision of information, advice, and guidance to applicants during the admissions process and identifying and suggesting continuous improvements to processes, systems, and communications. You will also ensure that academic decision makers are supported throughout the recruitment and admissions processes.
The Admissions Manager will also cultivate and foster extensive and close working relationships with relevant University staff and other appropriate external stakeholders, working collaboratively to develop service expectations and effective operating models across the SMRA department.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need a first degree or equivalent relevant experience and a strong background in admissions, ideally within Higher Education (HE) or Further Education (FE) in a large and complex organisation. You will demonstrate a solid understanding of admissions processes and policies, including Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) processes, as well as Home Office and fee assessment regulations for FE and undergraduate applicants.
Confident in leading operational tasks, you will be adept at setting clear standards and objectives, while monitoring performance to ensure resources and support are effectively in place to achieve goals. You are experienced in applying your knowledge and sharing it with others, including through training and updates, to help colleagues stay informed and up to date.
The ability to handle demanding situations and confidential matters with professionalism is essential, along with excellent organisational and planning skills. You will also be able to work effectively both collaboratively within a team and independently.
