Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron; a huge scientific facility designed to produce very intense beams of X-rays, infrared and ultraviolet light. This will continue to build-on Diamond’s world-class position, and enable us to continue to deliver brilliant science, tackling some of the most challenging scientific questions of the 21st century.
About the Role
We now have an opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Engineering team to provide electrical engineering design support to the technical systems of the Diamond facility. The Engineering team plays a key role in the design, development and construction of the equipment required to enable X-ray production for Scientific research.
Responsibilities will include:
About You
You will have a background in an Electrical Engineering discipline, with at least a Level 3 Qualification and recognised Apprenticeship, or HNC or above in a relevant discipline. You will be passionate about a career in electrical engineering with some experience of design, manufacture, assembly, testing and commissioning of Electrical systems. You will also demonstrate basic understanding of control systems and electrical designs methodology, with working knowledge of a CAD system.
