Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract

Closes: 2nd February 2026

Contract Length: 24 months

Interview Date: To be confirmed

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward‑thinking pharmacist to join our growing academic team and contribute to the teaching and research portfolio of the School of Applied Sciences on a fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant, enthusiastic, inclusive and multi-disciplinary team, and contribute to high‑quality teaching across both our undergraduate (MPharm) and postgraduate (OSPAP and IP) programmes, with a particular focus on medicines use and person‑centred care. You will be using a range of delivery methods including lectures, small group teaching, physical assessment instruction and work-place based tuition.

You will coordinate clinical placements, working with our network of providers to ensure students gain high-quality experiential learning that meets General Pharmaceutical Council standards. You’ll also contribute to interprofessional education through our links with Brighton and Sussex Medical School and Health Sciences.

You’ll be supported to develop a research programme aligned with medicines use, alongside your teaching. Our school’s strong links with pharmacy teams at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust, local trusts, and community pharmacies will facilitate your work. Early-career researchers receive mentoring from experienced academics to build a strong research trajectory.

You will have:

  • A proven track record in providing high quality clinical care.
  • Experience of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students.
  • Be registered with The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

As the postholder will teach advanced clinical skills, we will support them in maintaining clinical competence within the care sector. We also encourage the successful applicant to obtain an independent prescribing qualification, providing funding and study time through an approved provider.

The post is a part-time (0.8 full-time equivalent), and is initially fixed term for 24 months fixed term contract in the first instance. Job-sharers are welcome to apply.
