The Senior Business Analyst will use their extensive business analysis experience to contribute significantly to a change portfolio project focused on Identity and Access Management. This role involves collaboration with senior responsible officers across the University, technical teams, and core portfolio delivery management to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with the strategic objectives of stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include leading Discovery Phase activities within strategic programmes and projects, articulating desired goals and benefits, defining current and target states, eliciting requirements, evaluating options and feasibility, and proposing recommendations. Additionally the Senior Business Analyst will establish effective working relationships at all levels, influencing customer strategy and corresponding service strategies.
Duties and responsibilities
To work closely with senior management leading, developing, triggering, managing and implementing business analysis within defined areas of the organisation in relation to an Identity and Access Management project.
Designing and embedding change in the University, ranging from departmental change through to institution-wide transformation. This will include changes to processes, systems, and structures.
Liaising with Senior Officer teams and academics across the University to ensure the projects are scoped, designed, and delivered in a timely and effective manner.
Working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the University is responsive to changing needs and captures opportunities in a rapidly changing environment.
Ensuring that analysis is always underpinned by appropriate methodologies and tools.
As this is a senior role it will also be responsible for championing business analysis within the University, coaching and mentoring staff working in project teams to ensure they are effective. Coaching and mentoring more junior members of the Portfolio Delivery team.
Involvement in costing of proposed options for projects and programmes.
Liaising with third party suppliers to ensure the realisation/delivery of project requirements
Person Specification
An honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
Senior Business Analysis experience within a complex organisational setting (Essential)
Considerable experience of leading and working within multi-disciplinary teams (Essential)
Knowledge and experience of Identity and Access Management principles (Essential)
A customer and business focused approach to delivering against key goals with a good track record in meeting challenging deadlines with accuracy and enthusiasm
Good experience of working with Agile and Waterfall Methodologies
The ability to build relationships and credibility with senior colleagues and offer strong Stakeholder Management and Liaison skills.
Experience of writing and delivering business cases to Executive Boards and identifying benefits and risks which fit in with the strategic direction of an organisation
Desirable
BCS Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent
Practitioner-level qualifications in project and programme management
Experience of establishing significant change projects
