Queen Mary Students’ Union exists to listen, to act, and to improve students’ lives. As the Student Representative Administrator, you’ll contribute to the improvement of students’ lives by supporting our student representatives to organise activities, resolve enquiries and support an active Student Voice team.
The Students’ Union supports over 28,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary University of London. The role is part of the Student Voice Team, which is responsible for supporting elected student representatives, facilitating democratic meetings and building an authentic student voice. We expect you to be able to work individually and as part of a team to achieve your own objectives as well as shared goals.
We’re looking for someone who brings a positive attitude when working with students and seeks to improve the student experience. You’ll be working closely with the elected student representatives and students in general, so it is essential that you have a good understanding of students’ needs, excellent communication skills and can meet our students approachably and empathetically. You will support Queen Mary Students’ Union and BLSA to effectively run facilities and activities at the Whitechapel campus.
This is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent position. The starting salary will be £29,818 per annum, inclusive of the London Allowance, with annual raises by one point as set out in the QMUL Pay and Grading Structure. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave plus university closure days and bank holidays, a pension scheme, free gym membership, 20% off in our outlets, and an interest-free TFL/Railway season ticket loan. The role is predominantly in person, with some opportunities to work from home. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
QMSU is a great place to learn and develop your career. You will have access to excellent training opportunities and will work with people who are excited to share their knowledge and help you learn new skills.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required, this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points-Based Immigration Scheme.
QMSU is proud to be an Equal Opportunities employer, and we are committed to equality of opportunity for all applicants regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability status, class, or any other dimension of diversity. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We particularly welcome applications from Black and minority ethnic candidates, as this group is currently underrepresented within the Union.
