About the role

As a Campus Safety Officer, you will be one of the friendly and reassuring faces of the University. From helping a student who has locked themselves out, to providing calm support during incidents or emergencies, your presence will make a real difference.

  • Supporting the safety, security and wellbeing of students, staff and visitors
  • Responding calmly and professionally to incidents and emergencies
  • Offering advice, reassurance and practical assistance when needed
  • Working closely with colleagues and other university teams
  • Recording incidents accurately and maintaining confidentiality

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. You do not need previous security experience – we are interested in your people skills, judgement, empathy and ability to remain calm.

You may be particularly suited if you:

  • Are approachable, caring and confident communicating with others
  • Can make sound decisions and handle sensitive situations with discretion
  • Enjoy working as part of a supportive team
  • Are organised, reliable and adaptable

Full training will be provided, including safeguarding, conflict management and emergency response.

What’s in it for you?

  • Student discount eligibility
  • Access to world-class facilities at discounted rates
  • On-site parking
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities
