Applications are invited to apply for a Research Associate post in the Division of Infection and Immunity within the School of Medicine, Cardiff University, based at Heath Park Campus. This School of Medicine post will be within the Gallimore Godkin lab (https://www.cancerimmunology.co.uk) and is a position within a three-year programme grant funded by Worldwide cancer Research. The project involves the identification of novel T cell epitopes from colorectal antigens focussing on neoantigens, cancer associated antigens and non-canonical antigens. CD8+ T cell responses to these antigens will be measured in a range of assays including T cell – organoid co-cultures. Essential skills include a proven knowledge of T cell biology, working with CD8+ T cells and organoids in tissue culture. Live cell microscopy skills are highly desirable. The successful candidate will join a thriving team of cancer researchers studying fundamental aspects of cancer immunology, and seeking means to translate this knowledge to novel cancer treatments.
Candidates should have a PhD, or be about to submit a thesis for examination, and demonstrate significant relevant outputs i.e. publication/s in this area or relevant industrial experience.
For informal enquiries candidates should contact Professor Awen Gallimore (gallimoream@cardiff.ac.uk).
This post is full time (35 hours per week), available immediately and fixed term until 31st March 2029.
