Join Northumbria University at an exciting time of transformation, as we drive forward our mission to unlock potential and make a difference locally, nationally, and globally. As one of the UK’s leading research-intensive institutions, Northumbria is renowned for its commitment to social purpose, academic excellence, and innovation. Our vibrant campus in Newcastle sits at the heart of a dynamic city, fostering a diverse and inclusive community where ideas flourish and ambitions are realised. We are dedicated to delivering world-class research and transformative education, empowering individuals from all backgrounds to succeed and supporting organisations and communities to flourish. With a forward-thinking approach and a strong regional presence, Northumbria is shaping the future of higher education and making a lasting impact on society.
As Pro Vice-Chancellor Education, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering the University’s strategic ambitions. Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive and working as a key member of the University Executive, you will provide leadership for the development and delivery of our Education Strategy. You will drive continuous enhancement of educational quality and the student experience, ensuring a distinctive academic offer that responds to the evolving needs of students, professions and society.
You will bring substantial senior leadership experience gained within a large, complex higher education environment, with a proven ability to lead change, deliver results and improve educational outcomes at scale. As a credible academic leader with a deep understanding of the UK higher education landscape, you will combine strategic insight with operational grip and a strong commitment to student success. Collaborative and inclusive in your leadership style, you will foster innovation, enable cross-disciplinary working and build effective partnerships across the University and beyond.
This is an opportunity to join a financially robust and forward-thinking university at a time of real momentum. If you share our ambition to do things differently, to lead with purpose and impact, and to help shape the future of higher education and research within a connected, inclusive and research-intensive university, we would be delighted to hear from you.
