This role will require a presence of at least 4 days a week on our Stratford Campus, with 1 day working from home to suit the student timetable. You maybe required to be on campus 5 days a week in some cases, based on teaching and meeting requirements. Our hybrid working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit which could changes at any point during your employment, so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

Our School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology, is committed to providing high-quality, applied psychology education. Our diverse academic team includes experienced academics, practitioners, and industry professionals, all focused on preparing students with discipline knowledge and practical skills for real-world careers.

About the Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Lecturer in Psychology to join our Department of Psychology - UG. In this role you will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of our programmes. You will:

  • Deliver excellent teaching, learning and support to our students.
  • Lead and develop modules, ensuring high-quality learning materials and curriculum development.
  • Design excellent digital teaching material ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
  • Undertake assessment marking, design authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Manage your own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support/guidance as needed.
  • Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
  • Actively contribute to School level activity.

About You:

To be successful as a Lecturer in Psychology you will need:

  • An MSc or equivalent qualification in Psychology, with Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience in teaching, learning, and assessment practices in Higher Education.
  • A track record of successfully contributing to programme teams and being an inspiring and creative lecturer.
  • AdvanceHE Recognition - FHEA or willing to achieve within 12-18 months.
  • We encourage applications from those with experience teaching across the core BPS curriculum and especially with a focus on Research Methods and Clinical Psychology.

Highly Desirable Criteria:

  •  A PhD (or close to completion) in Psychology or a closely related subject.
