Do you want to join a growing Recruitment and Outreach team?
This exciting position will play a pivotal role in engaging students at local schools and colleges to deliver and enhance our recruitment and outreach activity. In this role, you will also work across our student recruitment events, on and off campus, including UCAS fairs, undergraduate and postgraduate Open Days. The role of the UK Recruitment and Outreach Officer is key in developing meaningful connections between the university and prospective students and their influencers within key schools and colleges. Its also a chance to be part of Middlesex University, an anchor institution in North London, dedicated to serving and supporting our local community.
Social mobility is embedded within Middlesex University’s DNA. We work with underrepresented students in schools and colleges to support equality of access to higher education. We deliver activities that support prospective students in developing their knowledge, aspirations and academic attainment. The officer will be plan and deliver outreach activities with local students and evaluate the recruitment impact.
We are looking for candidates excited about creating and delivering educational activities with young people and who can communicate enthusiastically with potential students, as well as their advisors, parents and carers about all that the University has to offer. It would be an advantage if you have an awareness of current recruitment challenges facing the UK Higher Education sector. We will require team members to work in different areas of Greater London as well as occasionally across other regions nationally. In return, Middlesex will offer you a platform to develop a broad portfolio of recruitment and widening participation experience plus opportunities to support key marketing activities and develop commercial acumen.
A week in the life of the post holder; a busy week for the UK Recruitment and Outreach Officer could see the post holder plan and lead an academic taster day for Y13s on campus. This could involve designing a programme with our academic teams, planning information and guidance sessions plus the supervision of coordinators and Student Ambassadors. Later in the week, the role could see you project managing our NHS Careers Fair, designing the activities and planning effective promotion and event delivery of this annual event. Fast forward the end of the week, you could be leading a talk at a recruitment event for existing undergraduates, promoting the benefits of continuing postgraduate studies at Middlesex.
