About the Role
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to the “Big Data for Cardio-Oncology” programme funded by the Wellcome Trust.
The research leverages multiple large cohorts to advance our understanding of cardiovascular and multi-organ health in cancer survivors. A series of integrated projects are planned, requiring application of advanced statistical methods and proficiency in handling large biomedical databases.
The post-holder will develop analysis plans, perform data pre-processing and analyses, and contribute to the preparation of presentations and publications. They will work as part of a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research team and support the training of research fellows and doctoral students.
About You
We seek an outstanding and ambitious postdoctoral researcher with a strong interest in epidemiology or data science. You will hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in a relevant discipline such as medical statistics, epidemiology, biomedical data science, or cardiovascular sciences. Experience analysing large-scale cohort or healthcare datasets, particularly in cardiovascular or cancer research, is desirable – especially UK Biobank and/or CPRD.

The Centre for Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging, based at the William Harvey Research Institute (Charterhouse Square Campus), is closely linked to St Bartholomew’s Hospital—an internationally leading centre for cancer and cardiovascular care.
The Centre delivers internationally competitive research through application of epidemiologic and machine learning methods to large biomedical multiomic databases, including unique expertise in handling large medical imaging databases. There is a strong focus on mentorship and career development.
This post will support the “Big Data for Cardio-Oncology” programme, led by Dr Zahra Raisi-Estabragh.
