Do you want to be part of a national network supporting the delivery of health and care research across England?

Are you an experienced Organisation Design and Development (OD&D) Lead? Can you bridge strategic intent with operational reality? Do you inspire others and lead with a people-centred mindset? Would you like to bring your passion for transformative OD&D practice to a high-performing national team?

The RDN is on a journey to embed OD&D at the heart of our strategy, ensuring the organisation remains healthy and future-fit in terms of teams, culture, and capability. An exciting opportunity has become available to join our progressive Workforce and Organisational Development Team, who are paving the path to future ways of working within the Research Delivery Network. This opportunity will suit someone who is credible and experienced in creating the conditions for systemic change.

You will:

  • Lead and deliver national, system-level approaches to change, organisational health and maturity, engagement, and leadership.
  • Establish and lead an RDN-wide ‘Learning Organisation’ programme.
  • Act as a senior advisor to individuals and teams regarding organisational health, behaviours, and people-related delivery improvement (delivery includes in-person, hybrid, and online).
  • Partner with leaders and teams across the national network to ensure effective OD&D input into service, process, and other changes as required.

What we offer in return:

  • 26 days holiday plus approximately 16 Bank Holidays/University closure days (including Christmas) – that’s 42 days a year!
  • Generous pension scheme plus life assurance – the University contributes 14.5% of your salary.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership at The Edge, our state-of-the-art campus gym, which includes a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
  • Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team.
  • Access to on-site childcare, shopping discounts, and travel schemes.
  • And much more!

If you have experience leading teams of OD&D practitioners; delivering OD&D interventions that are measurable, outcome-focused, and value-driven; and want to act as a strategic partner driving a compelling OD&D agenda, this role could be for you. If you’re looking for a collaborative position based on trust, focus, and shared ambition, leading a passionate and talented team within a productive and friendly environment,- apply today.

This role will be based in the RDNCC office on Queen Street, Leeds. We work in a hybrid way with an expectation that all RDNCC staff spend at least 40% of their time office. We are also open to discussing other flexible working arrangements.
