Assistant Research Development Manager

Full-time, fixed-term to September 2026.

Working primarily with the 2 science research themes (Agriculture, Food & Health and Environment) but also across other areas of University research, you will be contributing to the development of high-quality research grant applications and the generation of research income at the University of Reading.

The Assistant Research Development Manager will join 3 other Assistants and a team of 5 Research Development Managers. This team is led by a Senior Research Development Manager.

You will have:

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Ability to progress numerous projects at any one time and to prioritise and manage own work flow.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Awareness of research funding sources and mechanisms in the UK and overseas.

The role holder will join a wider team supporting all aspects of Research and Innovation funding including Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation, Impact and Research Contracts, on the University’s beautiful green Whiteknights campus which has won 14 consecutive Green Flag awards.
