The European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) is a charity and membership association that supports cancer researchers across the world, helping them to communicate, collaborate and work together internationally to help defeat cancer. Our friendly team of 15 staff is supportive, forward-thinking and highly motivated by the work we do.

We’re looking for a Communications and Social Media Coordinator to join our Communications and Marketing team. You’ll manage our social media output, writing posts, creating images and videos, and monitoring and responding to social media activity. You’ll also contribute to our online magazine and email newsletter and create websites and promotional material for our conferences.

Sam, the previous role-holder, who has moved to another position internally, says "I’ve really loved my time in this role - it’s interesting and varied, and you get to work with genuinely lovely people. The EACR is definitely a place where you feel trusted, supported, and encouraged to grow."

You will be extremely digitally-literate with a passion for social media and a creative mindset. You will be an outstanding communicator with meticulous attention to detail. We’re looking for someone who is positive, creative, organised and driven, who loves to take the initiative and suggest new ideas. There is room for the right candidate to truly own the role and help shape the way we communicate on social media.

This role is 29 hours per week (0.8 FTE), which you might choose to spread over 4 or 5 days.

Benefits include:

  • Generous annual leave (30 days pro rata, plus UK bank holidays and additional days at Christmas and Easter)
  • Flexible hybrid working (minimum one day per week at our office on the University of Nottingham’s Innovation Park, with easy access to University cafes, shops, green spaces and sports facilities)
  • Free onsite parking
  • Casual dress
  • Generous company pension
  • Opportunities for international travel
