The School of Medicine at Cardiff University seeks to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow or Senior Clinical Research Fellow to join a newly established Translational Virology Unit (Wales Applied Virology Unit) that sits across the Centre for Trials Research, Division of Infection and Immunity, and Division of Cancer and Genetics.
The post holder will be expected to develop cross cutting collaborative links across the NHS and relevant Cardiff University research themes, developing competitive research proposals and building research capacity to support Virology-related research.
The successful candidate should have proven clinical and research experience in virology. They will join an interdisciplinary research group spanning basic, translational, and applied virology. They will be highly motivated and organised with excellent communication and analytical skills. For the Senior Clinical Fellows role, the post holder will be required to have attained a higher degree at PhD-level or equivalent experience.
You will be based at the Heath Park site, Cardiff University, Heath Park.
This post is part time 0.2FTE (8 hours per week for Clinical Research Fellow or 7.5 hours per week for Senior Clinical Research Fellow), available from 1st April 2026 and fixed term for 2 years. Work pattern to be agreed at appointment.
