About the role
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious statistician or epidemiologist to build a strong academic and research career within a leading centre of excellence in diabetes and cardiovascular disease research. You will join the Leicester Real World Evidence Unit, contributing to high-impact analyses that support major national programmes including the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, NIHR Applied Research Collaborations (East Midlands), and the British Heart Foundation Centre for Research Excellence. Based in the internationally recognised Diabetes Research Centre, you will deliver high-quality research on lifestyle, cardiometabolic health, multiple long-term conditions, and ethnic health using innovative data-driven approaches.
About you
You will hold, or be close to completing, a PhD in a relevant discipline and have experience working with large datasets using established statistical methods. Strong programming skills in Stata, R or Python, alongside the ability to clean, analyse and interpret complex data, are essential.
You will be an organised and collaborative researcher with excellent communication skills and the confidence to contribute to publications, present findings and engage with stakeholders.
