The PhD student will be part of the ERC-funded research project New Christian Materiality 1450–1750 (Materia), based at the Department of History, King’s College London. The project explores the material culture of New Christian intercontinental traders of Jewish origin in the early modern period, focusing on the creation of expertise, the development of markets, the cultivation of a taste for art, and consumption patterns in either the Atlantic or the Indian Ocean.
