Exciting opportunity to apply your pensions knowledge for the lead organisation on pensions, pay and reward in the higher education sector.
We are looking for an exceptional, talented individual to support the senior members of the Pensions team in providing member institutions with pensions technical support and analysis, to improve sector outcomes for employers in the sector and their employees.
The Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA) is a membership organisation that is the leading voice on employment and reward matters in the UK Higher Education (HE) sector. We are a small team supporting our 169 members - HE providers such as universities, to be employers of choice through collaboration, advocacy and expert advice, facilitating their work in delivering effective employment and workforce strategies. UCEA is also the employer representative for the c. 330 participating employers in the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS).
Maintaining an up to date technical knowledge of the sectors pension schemes will enable you to communicate key issues and reforms to employers through a range of channels. You will develop briefings and materials for employer and employee engagement, as well as for internal use, on key issues and pension reforms – e.g. UCEA Pensions Bulletin, board and committee papers, networking events, UCEA website. You will undertake research and analysis to underpin developments and support lobbying.
In addition to pensions technical knowledge the postholder will be collaborative and credible with the broader UCEA team, being able to communicate complex matters and prioritise to help deliver a broad and varied workload.
The post is offered as full-time on a permanent contract and is hybrid, working at our offices in Bloomsbury, central London, as well as some remote working each week.
For more information, please download the Applicant Pack from the UCEA website (via the ‘Apply’ button above).
The closing date for applications is midday on Monday 2nd March 2026.
