Denys Wilkinson Building, Oxford
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused AV and IT Support Technician to provide high-quality technical support across our department’s IT and audiovisual environments. This is a highly visible, front-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working directly with users.
You will act as a first point of contact for staff, students, and visitors, ensuring that both digital systems and physical presentation spaces function seamlessly. Your time will be split between IT Helpdesk support and live AV event facilitation, often in fast-paced or high-profile settings. From diagnosing IT issues and provisioning workstations to supporting international conferences and lectures, you will play a key role in keeping the department running smoothly.
You will be a confident and adaptable technician, comfortable switching between IT support and live AV environments. You are calm under pressure, highly organised, and committed to delivering excellent customer service. Experience of working within an academic environment would be desirable.
The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 2 March 2026.
You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application. The Supporting Statement should include a cover letter and should also clearly describe how you meet each of the selection criteria listed in the job description.
