About the Role

Applications are invited for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join the Renal Research Group laboratory, supporting the delivery of ongoing funded projects and contributing directly to high-quality experimental research. The post holder will provide hands-on laboratory support, assist with experimental design, data generation and analysis, maintain accurate research records, and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. The role will also involve active support of undergraduate and postgraduate students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers through experimental assistance, troubleshooting, and coordination of laboratory activities, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely completion of project milestones within a multidisciplinary research environment

About You

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, demonstrable expertise in in vivo kidney disease models, and a keen interest in signalling pathways involved in kidney disease. They should be eager to learn and implement new experimental techniques, contribute to the day-to-day management of the laboratory, and take ownership of laboratory consumables and resources. The role requires a highly organised individual capable of coordinating experiments, maintaining detailed and accurate research records, analysing data, and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of laboratory operations to support both ongoing projects and the development of early-career researchers.

Located at the Charterhouse Square Campus, the Centre for Translational Medicine & Therapeutics is a key part of the William Harvey Research Institute (WHRI), supporting its mission to translate fundamental biological discoveries into novel therapies. The Centre brings together expertise in translational pharmacology, experimental medicine, and early‑phase drug discovery within a highly collaborative research environment. The Charterhouse Square Campus is in the heart of the City of London and is close to the Barbican Art and Music Centre and St Paul’s Cathedral.
