Salary: £31,236 to £34,610 per annum.
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

To find out more about this varied and valued role you are welcomed and encouraged to liaise with Emma Over, Executive Assistant to the Head of School and School Services Office Manager at Emma.Over@warwick.ac.uk.

A Teams call, phone call or visit can be arranged for you to get a greater understanding of what the position entails in School of Life Sciences.

We are seeking to appoint an organised, IT literate, customer-focused forward-thinking Technical Services Co-ordinator to provide comprehensive technical administrative support to the School of Life Sciences, with the support of the Technical Admin Assistant.

The successful applicant will focus on providing and developing administrative provision to support academics and the Technical Services Team in relation to laboratory activities, with a particular focus on ensuring good health and safety and statutory compliance in our lab environments as well as supporting with efficiency.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an environment that wishes to be at the forefront in enhancing compliance through simplifying, streamlining and improving administrative processes. There will be a particular focus on the use of Power Automate in Sharepoint to bring about these enhanced processes.

You will have a penchant to ‘own’ new concepts, processes and systems to shape how we operate more effectively.

School of Life Sciences is a large department, with a great deal to be proud of, keen to invest in and develop our staff starting with a comprehensive induction programme and, most importantly, to bring about the best possible outcomes for all our stakeholders.

About You
The successful candidate will be a well organised, proactive and positive ‘can-do’ person, who is approachable and collaborative with a calm professional manner. You need to be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, see continuous improvement as an every-day feature of the role and be able to work on your own as well as part of a number of teams. You will be motivated to help people, introduce change whilst keeping an eye on system and administrative details and impact.

This is a newly revised and enhanced role and a wonderful opportunity to gain some really valuable experience in a friendly and supportive team, to build positive relationships, prioritise initiatives and to put your strong IT skills to the test.

Every day will be different and we will play to your strengths. We are a small admin team, so the role will entail being ‘hands-on’ and supporting with other admin and customer facing tasks within the SLS School Support Team.

We have a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition through the range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 26 days holiday plus Christmas closure, excellent learning and development opportunities, and savings on a wide range of products and services. We offer a generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave policy, and onsite childcare facilities.

If you have the interest and a customer service solution-focussed approach to be a valued part of School of Life Sciences, we would love to hear from you.

Full details of the duties and selection criteria for this role can be found in the vacancy advert on the University of Warwick's jobs pages. You will be routed to this when you click on the 'Apply' button.

CLOSING DEADLINE: Wednesday, 25th February 2026 at 11:55pm (UK Time).
