This role will be based on the university campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and experienced project professional, who can support the management of multiple projects and the implementation of a more focused approach to campaigns and activities delivered by the Communications & Engagement team. This position, within the Operations and Strategic Communications team (part of the University’s Communications & Engagement team), offers a great opportunity to create impact and further develop your project management skills.
The Communications and Engagement function is responsible for developing the University’s global profile, protecting its reputation and creating communications and engagement opportunities for our diverse community of more than 9,000 staff and 38,000 students.
You will have proven experience managing and implementing a range of projects and/or programmes. You will need excellent planning, reporting, evaluation and stakeholder liaison skills and an ability to balance priorities and organise work to key milestones. You will also have responsibility for motivating, coaching and mentoring colleagues, ensuring that they are adequately equipped to lead projects across the team. With relevant experience in applying best practice methodologies, some understanding of the HE environment and the ability to challenge accepted norms would be beneficial, as well as being comfortable working with limited supervision.
You must be able to work flexibly, have a tenacious attitude and a continuous improvement ethic. This role sits within the Operations and Strategic Communications Planning team and will involve hybrid working split between home and campus.
