Are you a proactive and approachable HR professional looking for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of a friendly team supporting ground-breaking cancer research? Join us in the Department of Oncology, based at the newly refurbished Early Cancer Institute on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy variety in your day-to-day tasks, and are passionate about people and processes, we would love to hear from you.
You will be the first point of contact for all HR matters in the department and provide advice and guidance to staff. Key responsibilities include:
The ideal candidate will have HR coordinator and administrator role experience, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic as well as the ability and motivation to learn new skills and keep abreast of new policy and regulatory changes.
You should be able to work autonomously and will benefit from support from the HR team at the School of Clinical Medicine, alongside expert advice provided by the central University teams (e.g. New Appointments, Payroll and Compliance).
We operate a flexible working environment and are open to a range of contact hours and working patterns. Due to the need to foster a good understanding of the department and build relationships this role does require a minimum of 3 days/week in the office.
If successful, you will have access to a clear induction plan to ensure you are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve success, an annual review to support your personal development, access to University training courses to support your ongoing learning and development and a supportive and inclusive working environment that encourages collaboration and supports wellbeing.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a health assessment.
