Life continues. So does learning.

At Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education (PACE), we provide flexible, high-quality education for adult learners at every stage of life. From short courses to postgraduate programmes, thousands of students study with us each year.

We are seeking a Student Data Manager to lead our Student Data and Records team and ensure the integrity, accuracy and reliability of student data across PACE.

This is a leadership role at the centre of our academic operation. The quality of our data underpins student experience, statutory reporting, awards, financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role

You will:

  • Lead and develop a small Student Data and Records team (2 direct reports)
  • Oversee student registration, system enrolment, marks processing, awards and transcripts.
  • Ensure compliance with University regulations and statutory reporting requirements (including HESA and HESES)
  • Produce accurate and timely institutional and external returns.
  • Act as PACEs primary liaison with central University teams on student records.
  • Drive continuous improvement to systems and processes.
  • You will balance operational stability with longer-term improvement, ensuring our records and reporting are robust, efficient and aligned with institutional requirements.

About you

You will bring:

  • Experience leading and supporting a team.
  • Experience working with complex data systems (student records or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with large datasets.
  • A meticulous approach to accuracy and validation.
  • Experience improving processes and working across teams.
  • The ability to explain technical information clearly to non-specialists.
  • Experience of statutory returns and CamSIS would be advantageous.

This role would suit someone who combines:

  • Strong people leadership
  • Analytical confidence
  • A meticulous eye for detail

The ability to translate complex data requirements into clear, practical processes. If you enjoy building capable teams, improving systems, and making sense of complex data in a values-driven academic environment, this could be an excellent next step.

Why join PACE?

  • A distinctive working environment at Madingley Hall.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • A collaborative and supportive professional culture.
  • The opportunity to contribute to a mission-led institution committed to lifelong learning.

Contract: Permanent, 1.0 FTE
