The University of Sunderland in London boasts a vibrant and diverse community of staff and students. We consider ourselves as an innovative satellite campus and are constantly evolving and have exciting plans for 2026 and beyond!
We are currently piloting a four-day working week which allows our colleagues to work 32 hours over 4 days week with no reduction in pay. The pilot is part of our ongoing efforts to create a positive and inclusive workplace that promotes work-life balance and allows our colleagues to thrive professionally and personally whilst maintaining our commitment to delivering high-quality service to all our students.

ABOUT THE TEAM AND THE ROLE
Our Student Journey team plays a central role in supporting, informing and empowering our diverse student community from their first contact through to graduation. We work collaboratively across academic and professional services to ensure every student feels connected, supported and heard.
As our new Student Communications Officer, you will help bring the student journey to life, crafting clear, engaging and inclusive communications, amplifying the student voice, and contributing directly to initiatives that enhance satisfaction, belonging and success on campus.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
You will bring excellent communication skills, a strong eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content for a diverse student audience. You will be confident working across digital platforms, comfortable analysing data and feedback to refine your approach, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. A collaborative mindset is essential, you will work closely with teams across the campus to deliver consistent, student‑centred messaging. Above all, you will have a genuine commitment to enhancing the student experience and ensuring every learner feels informed, supported and connected throughout their journey.
