We are currently looking for a visionary researcher and educator to join us in shaping the next generation of legal minds through our Academic, Research & Teaching (ART) pathway.

The Focus: Ambitious Research & Impact

As a Lecturer on the ART pathway, you will be an early-career scholar ready to make a mark. You will contribute to the production of high-quality, REF-eligible research outputs and develop an emerging research trajectory. We are looking for candidates whose research aligns with or expands upon our Research Excellence Groups, including:

  • Social Welfare, Law and Administrative Justice 
  • Health and Law 
  • Law and AI 
  • Conflict, Migration, and International Law 
  • Criminalisation 
  • Private Law and Values 

We are particularly interested in strengthening our expertise in Corporate and Commercial Law, Healthcare Law, Human Rights Law, Tort Law, and Environmental Law.

The Role

You will balance a dedication to world-class research with a commitment to our distinctive educational model. Key responsibilities include:

  • Research: Developing research objectives, obtaining external funding, and publishing original work in high-impact journals.
  • Teaching: Designing and delivering innovative teaching materials, including PBL facilitation and small-group learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
  • Leadership: Undertaking administrative duties, such as Module Co-ordinator or Programme Director roles, and contributing to the collegial life of the School.

About You

You are a collaborative academic with a PhD in Law (awarded or near completion) and a proven ability to contribute to high-quality research. You possess:

  • Specialist knowledge in one or more areas of law.
  • The ability to engage students using a range of teaching techniques.
  • A collaborative ethos and a positive attitude toward students and colleagues.
  • Experience or potential in producing research with demonstrable public, policy, or professional impact.
