An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Aston Business School as an Operations Support Officer on a part-time basis.
This role provides comprehensive administrative support across the School, acting as a key point of contact for staff, students, and visitors. The postholder will support senior academic leaders with diary management, meeting coordination, and confidential administrative tasks, while also servicing departmental meetings and maintaining essential systems such as noticeboards, distribution lists, and intranet updates. They will help ensure the smooth running of facilities by liaising with Estates, coordinating refurbishments, managing office allocations, and overseeing equipment and stationery needs. The role also contributes to event organisation, travel arrangements, visitor coordination, and general operational processes that underpin the School’s professional services.
Alongside day‑to‑day operations, the postholder will support recruitment activities, onboarding and offboarding processes, and provide guidance on expenses, casual worker appointments, and compliance requirements such as UKVI checks. They will play an active role in promoting health and safety, equality, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability across the School, working collaboratively with colleagues to uphold University policies and service standards. A commitment to professional development, flexibility, and teamwork is essential, as the role contributes to wider School priorities and provides cover during busy periods or staff absence.
Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent, you will have substantial administrative experience within the higher education sector or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role, along with the ability to work without close supervision.
This role is campus-based, with some flexibility to work from home.
