De Montfort University (DMU) is an ambitious, globally minded institution committed to delivering high-quality teaching and a sector-leading student experience. As a culturally rich university dedicated to the public good, DMU fosters a stimulating and inclusive environment where staff and students thrive. It is a vibrant, multicultural hub of learning, creativity and innovation that challenges convention.
Marketing and Communications Directorate
The Directorate provides full-service marketing and communications support across the university. This includes brand and creative development; design and print; corporate and student recruitment campaigns; CRM and conversion activity; faculty marketing; reputation management; media relations and public affairs; internal and external communications; events; admissions and schools engagement; widening participation; enquiry management and follow-up; and web and digital development.
The Role
The Business Partnering team supports the university’s recruitment and commercial objectives, with a focus on portfolio performance, competitiveness and student recruitment outcomes. Working with a Business Partner, you will coordinate and deliver course marketing and student recruitment focused communications and activity for a designated faculty, ensuring solutions are insight-led and aligned with agreed objectives.
Collaborating with the wider MarComms directorate and managing stakeholders effectively, you will develop a strong understanding of DMU's portfolio, its audiences and market position, using this insight to shape messaging and campaign activity. As part of a small, supportive team, you will deliver end-to-end marketing and recruitment activity while contributing to a “one team” ethos across the Business Partnering team, helping shape how courses are positioned and promoted to future students.
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for a creative, innovative, and resilient team member who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have a curiosity for how market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity shape demand. You will be both analytical and pragmatic—able to move between project coordination and hands-on delivery. An awareness of the UK and international student markets is desirable, but not essential.
