The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research at the Nuffield Department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Imaging Manager to strengthen strategic development in imaging, data workflows, and analysis capabilities. You will be based at Old Road Campus in Headington, Oxford.
You will work with the Imaging Manager and senior academics to develop and implement a facility strategy, including evaluating new technologies and equipment, purchasing, analysis software and data management, and you will create and chair an Imaging Committee to lead the strategic direction of the imaging facility. Other responsibilities will include providing training and ongoing support in microscopy techniques and equipment usage to students and researchers and leading the development of bespoke image analysis workflows, including segmentation, tracking, 3D reconstruction, time-lapse analysis, and quantitative imaging.
It is essential that you hold a degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Physics or other relevant discipline, along with extensive practical experience with advanced light microscopy, including confocal and live-cell/time-lapse 3D imaging. You will be experienced in advanced or specialised imaging techniques, such as super-resolution (e.g., STORM/SMLM), FLIM, FRET, FRAP, or high-content imaging, and you will have strong expertise in image analysis, including use of commercial and open-source tools, and experience developing or adapting analysis workflows.
