Description of Post

Heads of Department is a key members of academic management, responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Department, its academic programmes and resources. 

This Head of Department will lead and develop the Department of Electronic, Software & Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

The successful applicant will form part of the School Management team along with the Head of School. The Head of Department will possess the requisite managerial, leadership, and administrative knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

It is expected that the School Management Team will work closely in areas of overlap such as planning, timetabling, health and safety, promotion, and marketing.

Essential Qualifications

• A relevant first or second class Honours degree in Electronic, Software & Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline from a recognised awarding authority.
• Not less than five years relevant and acceptable experience in an Engineering, or related discipline.
• Applicants must have the necessary technical and administrative expertise to lead and manage professional teams to develop and deliver relevant programmes of study which respond to the needs of students, industry and the wider community.
