Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the research administration team. The role is based within the School of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. The School incorporates the well-established Centre for Research in Public Health and Community Care (CRIPACC), a vibrant, multidisciplinary research centre with over 30 researchers from diverse backgrounds including public health, social sciences, social work and mental health. 

Main duties and responsibilities

Key duties include organisation of meetings including the preparation of materials and production of meeting notes. You will provide administrative support for arranging events, travel and accommodation and will work closely with academics to support their research activities. You will support the marketing and communications of work including the University’s social media activities within the research centre. You will support the administration of the service user, carer and public involvement functions and be responsible for the production, preparation and presentation of material for departmental and external meetings, ensuring that all appropriate policies and procedures are adhered; recording proceedings and actions in a written format as required. 

Skills and experience required

For this busy and challenging role, you will need to be organised, with a methodical approach with attention to detail and have good IT skills. Appropriate proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation would be an advantage. You should be committed to providing a high-quality service and have good communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be able to deal with conflicting priorities and to work under pressure with minimum supervision. In addition, you will be effective in a team setting with a can-do attitude to problem solving.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of A-levels or equivalent, or proven professional work experience.
