An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strategic and creative Marketing Manager to lead the employability marketing function within the Careers and Placements department at Aston University.
In this pivotal role, you will shape and deliver high-impact, insight-driven campaigns that inspire students and graduates to engage with a wide range of employability services, development opportunities and work experience schemes. You will also support the development of employer-facing communications, helping to ensure alignment with Aston’s brand and contributing to the creation of clear, professional collateral that strengthens external partnerships.
As an experienced marketer and confident leader, you will oversee and develop a small team, setting clear direction, priorities and standards across all activity. You will provide day-to-day management, coaching and performance support, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment that encourages creativity, accountability and continuous improvement. You will lead the full marketing and communications planning cycle, embedding strong processes, evaluating performance and driving quality, cohesion and innovation across the function.
You will also oversee the development of our marketing approach across key channels, ensuring consistency, accessibility and effectiveness in how we communicate with students, graduates and employers. While maintaining a strong digital presence, the emphasis will be on strategic oversight, campaign integration and ensuring that platforms and tools are used in a purposeful, coordinated way that supports engagement and service visibility.
With a strong understanding of multichannel marketing, data-informed decision-making and user-centred communication, you will bring clarity and structure to complex priorities and diverse audiences. Experience of managing people and projects, working within a corporate visual identity, and using insight to refine and improve campaigns will be essential.
Whether you come from within Higher Education or bring experience from a different sector, this role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in a purpose-driven environment where your work will directly shape student and graduate success.
