The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. The main aim of the post is to contribute to CURE-ME research activities by conducting statistical analysis of existing datasets and advising on prospective studies. In particular the applicant will contribute statistical expertise to the NIH-funded project “Human Herpesvirus 6B in myalgic encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS): temporal analysis of viral reactivation and immunity to elucidate cause vs effect”, in collaboration with lab-based and clinical staff.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic, experience in relevant fields such as biostatistics and/or bioinformatics, proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a research team, and proven ability to meet research deadlines.
The post is fixed term until 31st August 2026, with a possibility of renewal for 6 months and part-time 17.5 hours per week, 0.5 FTE. The post is funded by the NIH and is available immediately. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post is based in London at LSHTM.
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
