The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Health Economics within the Department of Clinical Research. The post will be part of the Add-Vaac project, a cluster-randomised trial that is measuring the impact of adding a one-off catch-up male HPV vaccination to routine female HPV vaccination on the population prevalence of HPV 16/18/6/11 in 18 to 21-year-old males and females in Tanzania. The postholder will be responsible for conducting economic evaluations, with particular attention to relevance to policy-makers. This is likely to include a cost-effectiveness analysis, budget impact analysis and value of implementation analysis and will include reviewing data already collected as part of this cluster-randomised trial.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic, relevant experience in designing and conducting economic evaluations, including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact analysis, or value of implementation analyses, possess strong computational skills, and have demonstrated experience in HPV-related modelling. The post is fixed term until 31 March 2027 and full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE. The post is funded by the Medical Research Council and is available from 01 June 2026. The salary will be on the LSHTM scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,728 - £51,872 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting).
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in Keppel Steet, London at LSHTM.
