About the role
This band 8 Lecturer role will contribute across our existing portfolio of healthcare education programmes, including Nursing, Allied Health Professions (AHP), Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) and Advanced Practice. This cross-disciplinary role will support the development and delivery of teaching and learning that reflects the nature of modern health care. As part of this, the postholder will work collaboratively with colleagues to expand the faculty’s simulation portfolio, ensuring innovative, evidence informed approaches are embedded across programmes to reflect authentic clinical complexity and interprofessional practice.
We are seeking an experienced practitioner with an acute care and ideally a critical care background, who can bring clinical expertise and professional insight to the academic environment. Applicants may come from NMC, HCPC, GPhC professional backgrounds and should hold some level 7 education in a relevant subject area. Experience in teaching and a recognised Advance HE accreditation would be advantageous but not essential.
The role also offers excellent academic career developmental opportunities to the successful candidate. The FHS is supported by an internationally renowned professoriate and embraces a commitment to continuing professional development. Additionally, it encourages all academic staff to enhance their teaching skills through the development of scholarly activity. The post aligns with regional and national workforce development priorities to strengthen acute and advanced practice education. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the high-quality learning experiences that prepare the next generation of practitioners to meet the evolving demands of the health and social care across the region.
