Health and Safety Services supports and challenges the University to ensure it is not only complying with legislative standards but striving to be leading on best practice to make the University a healthy and safe place to work, study and visit.

The team offers a range of health and safety services across all of the University’s Estate, Faculties and Services, providing a very diverse range of risks groups to work with including those associated with laboratories, medical facilities, sports facilities, multi-storey accommodation, theatres, restaurants, night clubs, libraries, offices, workshops, refurbishments and the support and maintenance infrastructure necessary to maintain them.

We have a vacancy for a Fire Safety Advisor role.

The role will be responsible for informing the University Fire Safety Strategy and supporting the University to ensure it has discharged its Fire Safety Responsibilities.

You will be working proactively with Faculty and Service colleagues across the whole University on all aspects of fire safety, particularly with respect to equipment, buildings, processes, procedures and legislation, overseeing the fire risk assessment program and systems for remedial actions, delivering fire safety training, supporting and investigating fire related incidents and near-misses, assisting policy and practical guidance development.
