This is a full-time, permanent post. The Residence Life Administrator is a full-time, campus-based role with regular presence across NYU London residences, particularly Byron Court and Guilford House. The postholder will work closely with colleagues across Student Life, Facilities, Housekeeping, Operations and Security to ensure the smooth functioning of the residential environment. This role requires excellent organisational skills, strong interpersonal communication, and a calm, solutions-focused approach to supporting students.

Student Support & Incident Response (30%)

  • Provide frontline guidance and wellbeing support to residents by conducting regular check-ins and responding sensitively to concerns related to health, conduct, facilities or shared-living challenges.
  • Facilitate mediation for roommates encountering difficulties and help students navigate available support services.
  • Participate in the departmental duty rota, responding to the on-call phone during working hours and coordinating urgent responses with senior colleagues.
  • Ensure incidents are accurately documented and follow established protocols for safety and student wellbeing, referring students to specialist university services where appropriate.

Community Engagement & Programming (20%)

  • Support an inclusive and engaging residential community by contributing to the planning and delivery of a varied programme of activities.
  • Collaborate with live-in staff and student leaders to foster belonging, intercultural learning and social connection. Supervise student leaders as needed and gather feedback from participants to help improve future programming.

Inclusion, Departmental & Peak-Period Support (10%)

  • Contribute to diversity and inclusion initiatives, assist Student Life during busy periods such as arrivals and orientations, provide front-desk cover when needed, and undertake additional duties as required.
  • Flexibility in working hours is expected, including occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
