Do you have the skills and knowledge to manage and provide governance for an active Research Tissue Bank?
Can you provide technical support to a diverse range of laboratory research projects?
The main aim of this post is to support the day-to-day activities of the PNH Research Tissue bank. PNH (Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria) is a rare, clonal bone marrow disorder and the tissue bank continues to collect samples from patients under the care of the National PNH Service based at St. James's Hospital, Leeds. This will include governance (including preparation of the tissue bank renewal in 2026), management of the bank itself (including HTA compliance), tissue collection and processing, and liaising with the PNH clinic and research team.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an appropriate subject area and have suitable laboratory and governance experience. You will have experience in handling clinical samples, a good knowledge of the human tissue act and ethical approval requirements in a laboratory setting, as well as effective communication and team skills.
