An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer to join Norwich Medical School to deliver lectures and seminars and carry out teaching-related duties.

The role centres on teaching key principles of inorganic and organic chemistry to undergraduate pre-medical and medical students, with a strong focus on the application of chemistry to medicine.

You will primarily support the BSc Clinical Sciences course, aimed at pre-clinical training of overseas fee-paying students, and may also include teaching on additional courses. Teaching will be closely aligned with modules covering clinical communication, cell biology and biochemistry, requiring close teamwork with these Module Leads.

The role requires design and development of modules and associated practicals, along with appropriate assessment strategies. The post will also involve course management, such as leading chemistry and related biology modules.

As part of this role, you will be enrolled to take our Certificate in Higher Education Practice (from UEA), or in Clinical Education, if you do not already hold a relevant teaching qualification.

All ATS staff are required to undertake Enterprise and Engagement activity to enhance the school’s reputation externally. All lecturers act as personal advisers to students (pastoral role) and undertake medical student selection interviews. Any additional teaching or administrative roles would be agreed with the Head of the Department of Medical Education.

A first degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area, with proven experience of high-quality undergraduate or Level 3 teaching relevant to the subject is required. In addition, experience of student assessments, including coursework and examinations is essential. Experience in relevant enterprise and engagement activities would be advantageous.

This full-time post is available from 1 May 2026 on an indefinite basis.
