Department/Location: Office of External Affairs and Communications, Cambridge
The University of Cambridge is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Public Affairs Coordinator to join our Public Affairs team within the Office of External Affairs and Communications.
This 12 month role (available either as a fixed term contract or secondment) is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in policy, public affairs or corporate communications to play a key part in monitoring political and policy developments, supporting strategic engagement with key stakeholders, and contributing to the University's political communications.
You'll work closely with the Head of Public Affairs and Senior Policy Adviser to track emerging issues, draft briefings, support advocacy activity and strengthen the University's presence across the policy and political landscape.
We're looking for a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills, the ability to present complex information clearly, and confidence working with senior internal and external stakeholders.
Experience navigating UK political processes is essential, and while knowledge of the higher education sector is desirable, it's not required. If you're motivated, politically aware and keen to contribute to the University's strategic influence at a national and local level, we'd love to hear from you.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first instance.
Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be considered for part-time working or other flexible working arrangements.
